Review by Christine:

The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood is a laugh out loud rom-com with all the right heat. This is the second book in Jennifer’s The Rule Breaker’s series but it can be completely enjoyed without reading the first installment. The Rule Book was a complete surprise read for me last year and I’ve been looking forward to The Rule Maker since it was announced and this book didn’t disappoint – I dare say it’s better than the first!

Zoey loves her job and wants to move up within the company though standing in her way is Ryder, super sexy snowboarder who overseeing her most recent job acquisition. Oh did I mention they had a one night stand and he snuck out before sunlight so Ryder is on Zoey’s shhhhh list! So the mission is to complete the remodel project without losing her job for sleeping with the client – challenge accepted except that Ryder is on a mission to make Zoey’s life as complicated as he can and win over the girl.

A completely fun, light, quick read with some great laugh out loud moments right from the start. I was laughing so hard I had to read some part out to my hubby so he’d understand why I was dying. I knew Zoey was quirky and funny from The Rule Book but I really enjoyed her taking the lead. Ryder was completely swoon worthy and watching poor Zoey trying to resist his advances equaled comedy gold. I enjoyed the peek at Lainey & Brogan from The Rule Book and to see how they are doing and progressing – I’m hoping we’ll see another installment in their journey. What I love about these books is how much fun I have reading them and can’t wait to see what happens next. 4.5 Stars for The Rule Maker by Jennifer Blackwood
