Hosting her brother’s wedding for an MVP guest list is the challenge of Jess Canning’s life. Already the family screw-up, she can’t afford to fail. And nobody (nobody!) can learn of the colossal mistake she made with the best man during a weak moment last spring. It was wrong, and there will not be a repeat. Absolutely not. Even if he is the sexiest thing on two legs.

Blake Riley sees the wedding as fate’s gift to him. Jess is the maid of honor and he’s the best man? Let the games begin. So what if he’s facing a little (fine, a lot) of resistance? He just needs to convince the stubborn blonde that he’s really a good boy with a bad rap. Luckily, every professional hockey player knows that you’ve got to make an effort if you want to score.

But Jess has more pressing issues to deal with than sexy-times with a giant man-child. Such as: Will the ceremony start on time, even though someone got grandma drunk? Does glitter ever belong at a wedding? And is it wrong to murder the best man?

Caution: May cause accidental aspiration of tea or coffee. Do not read in a public place where loud laughter is inappropriate. Contains hot but hilarious hockey players, puppy cuddling and a snarky pair of underwear

Review by Christine:

Good Boy by Sarina Bowen is a romantic comedy with a ton of heart returning us to charters we met in US: Jess Canning & Blake Riley in this new series WAGs (Wives and Girlfriends). We enter this story with Jess planning/stressing over the wedding between her brother Jamie & Ryan (Wesley). Sometimes it takes doing something to realize you aren’t fit for the job even though you pull it off and that’s the case for Jess who decides Party Planning isn’t for her. Enter Blake, the best man for Wesley, and stress level sky rockets for Jess. Blake hasn’t been able to get Jess off his mind since their one night together on a massage chair while caring for Jamie when he was sick. The last thing Blake has wanted was a relationship after his break up with his ex 5 years ago but Jess stirs something within him. Both in the same city now Blake can’t help but work his way to remove the wall Jess has put between them and it doesn’t hurt he’s amazing between the sheets too.

OK lets be honest here, I was concerned if I could handle a whole book with Blake. At times during US he was so annoying but by the end you fall in love with him and in Good Boy I found it it’s very similar in that I needed to warm up to him again. I found the beginning/set up a bit slow paced but once both Blake and Jess are in Toronto it flows perfectly. These two burn up the page and the push and pull between them is addictive, I couldn’t put this book down once I got about 35% in. The ending was beyond perfect and brought a little tear to my eye too. I loved the set up for future books too and I think this idea of WAGs is a fantastic addition to the hockey romance world. 4.5 stars for Good Boy by Sarina Bowen
