This is the seventh book in the series but it could be read as a standalone, this is Nick and Jodie’s story. Nick doesn’t make a great first impression when he meets Jodie, he’s standoffish, grumpy and miserable but life has been hard for him. Nick finds Jodie’s incessant chat aggravating but circumstance keeps putting her in Nicks path and what at first he found annoying, is now soothing to him, throw in a cute 2 yr old and his once black heart is now beating again. Jodie is a single mother by choice, business owner, not used to relying on anyone but once she crosses paths with a hot hockey player she knows her life will never be the same.
There’s some ups and downs, strong emotions, romance and playoff beards that will keep you turning the pages. We get to catch up with previous couples and get a hint at who the next book will be about. This was another great read from this author, I totally devoured this book in one sitting, I loved both Nick and Jodie, it was great watching their relationship blossom and bloom and seeing Nick open his heart. Can’t wait to read the next book in this series. 5 Stars!
