Just an Illusion – Side A by D. Kelly

One night changed her life…

Bestselling author Amelia Greyson has grown up in the music industry and isn’t the slightest bit fazed by fame or celebrities.  However, when she attends a Bastards and Dangerous concert with her best friend Belle, her world shifts on its axis.

Double trouble…

Sawyer and Noah Weston are the front men of BAD.  They’re fraternal twins and sexy as sin.  When they hear the author of The O Factor is in their green room, they’re intrigued.  She’s just the person they need to write their farewell story.  The brothers offer Amelia the opportunity of a lifetime, which she reluctantly accepts.

Three hearts…

Noah is sweet and considerate, working hard to make Amelia feel at home on the road.  Unfortunately, the closer they get, the more obnoxious Sawyer becomes.  Sawyer is arrogant and distant and he wants Amelia, even though she’s not his for the taking.  Only during stolen moments does Sawyer show her who he really is. Can Amelia maintain a safe distance from Sawyer and keep her heart intact?  Or will she shatter Noah’s heart by giving hers to his brother instead?

Just an Illusion – Side A is the first book in The Illusion Series

Review by Susan:
I’ll start by saying that I don’t usually read rock star books, there not my cup of tea, but I have to say that I’m so pleased I gave this book a chance. This book is amazing! I devoured it in one sitting, I was hooked from the first page and spat out at the end. I won’t say much more about the story as I don’t want to give anything away, but look out ladies there’s a new book boyfriend in town! Noah is totally swoon worthy, it does end on a cliffhanger, but what a cliffhanger! How could you do that to us? ! I seriously can’t wait to read the next book.  5 Stars!

My world was rock solid.

Until I saw her.

Lara Kessler showed up as if heaven sent her to me, and suddenly my priorities changed. Love is funny like that. One minute you’re living the dream, then BAM! Half my soul shows up backstage wearing a purple shirt and sexy skin-tight jeans, making me realize what I’ve been missing all along. Loving her means exposing a life I’ve tried to bury.

My heart had lost its beat.

Until I saw him.

Kaz Fabian caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on him. Love is funny like that. The famous guitarist was every woman’s fantasy—great face, chiseled jaw, cut biceps. The rock star was pure sex on and off stage, but his charm and charisma won me over. Loving him means burdening him with a life I’ve tried to leave behind.

With her future dim and his past in the spotlight, can they overcome their fate or will they just be another tragic love story?

Review by Paula:

Lara at a concert with friends eyeing Kaz but knows there just friends but her gut is saying hmm I wonder but she has a man so it passes. Mark is major baseball player and Lara is noticing him changing and her feelings for him just aren’t there anymore. Lara is a house decorator and ends up helping Kaz and there feelings start to come out. Has Lara finally found her dream man in Kaz? Will Lara be able to break up with Mark? Will Kaz be able to open up to Lara about his past? Drama, romance in this book never assume people are fine until you truly see it with your own eyes. I loved this book felt real and the obstacles they take. 5 Stars

Excerpt

The woman I’ve fantasized about is finally in my bed. The one who’s starred in my dreams and I’ve imagined when fucking others. She’s here, lying next to me and I can’t sleep.

My chest hurts while watching her. She’s the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen and equally the most fascinating. She teases and jokes, flirts… and she trusts me. She trusts me with her life. That’s what brought her here tonight. I would do anything for her and she knows it.

I sit up and scrub my hands over the way-too-long scruff that covers my face. She stirs beside me, making me want to stay. I really should, but I just can’t stay here any longer…

A promise is a promise and all that. But some promises are worth breaking. This is one of them.

New York Times and USA Bestselling Author, S. L. Scott, was always interested in the arts. She grew up painting, writing poetry and short stories, and willing her days away lost in a good book and the movies.

With a degree in Journalism, she continued her love of the written word by reading American authors like Salinger and Fitzgerald. She was intrigued by their flawed characters living in picture perfect worlds, but could still debate that the world those characters lived in were actually the flawed ones. This dynamic of leaving the reader invested in the words, inspired Scott to start writing with emotion while interjecting an underlying passion into her own stories.

Living in the capital of Texas with her family, Scott loves traveling and avocados, beaches, and cooking with her kids. She’s obsessed with epic romances and loves a good plot twist. She dreams of seeing one of her own books made into a movie one day as well as returning to Europe. Her favorite color is blue, but she likens it more toward the sky than the emotion. Her home is filled with the welcoming symbol of the pineapple and finds surfing a challenge though she likes to think she’s a pro.

MANAGED by Kristen Callihan

We are very excited to bring you the next stand-alone book in the VIP Series from Kristen Callihan! MANAGED will release on NOVEMBER 14. And this one is guaranteed to be legendary!

managed-amazon

managed-amazonIt started off as a battle of wits. Me: the ordinary girl with a big mouth against Him: the sexy bastard with a big…ego.

I thought I’d hit the jackpot when I was upgraded to first class on my flight to London.

That is until HE sat down next to me. Gabriel Scott: handsome as sin, cold as ice. Nothing and no one gets to him. Ever. He’s a legend in his own right, the manager of the biggest rock band in the world, and an arrogant ass who looks down his nose at me.

I thought I’d give him hell for one, long flight. I didn’t expect to like him. I didn’t expect to want him. But the biggest surprise? He wants me too. Only in a way I didn’t see coming.

If I accept his proposal, I leave myself open to falling for the one man I can’t manage. But I’m tempted to say yes. Because the real man beneath those perfect suits and that cool façade just might be the best thing that’s ever happened to me. And I just might be the only one who can melt the ice around his heart.

Let the battle begin…

Fractured Beat by RB Hilliard

Title: Fractured Beat
Series: The Meltdown Series #1
Author: RB Hilliard
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: September 20, 2016
When Grant Hardy, Meltdown’s lead singer, falls off the stage in the middle of a concert while under the influence, his record label has no choice but to step in and take control. The solution is simple. Send Grant to rehab and avoid a public relations nightmare by covering it up as a bad case of the flu.
When the rehab facility’s recommendation for extended treatment starts to affect the label’s bottom line, they are forced to find an alternative solution – hire an in-house counselor for the duration of the tour.
There’s just one problem.
Grant Hardy isn’t an addict.

Review by Christine:
Fractured Beat is a suspense filled rockstar romance with a twist that you won’t see coming! R.B. has a way with words that keeps you glued to the page from the first chapter. I’ve read a few of R.B.’s novels and Fractured Beat stands alongside with my other favorites. Told in dual POV and at times retelling of a scene from both Grant and Mallory’s perspective showed us that not only are their two sides to every story but perspectives on the same events and done in such a creative way each version of events is fresh to the reader. Grant a strong lead who stands by his claim and not an addict even though others around him question his actions. Mallory wants to do her job but when emotions start to cloud her judgement work wise her heart takes over and I found myself cheering for her even though it goes against rules. I loved the chemistry between our leads which seared the page. I truly enjoyed this first installment in The Meltdown series and I can’t wait to see where R.B. leads us next with the band. 5 Stars for Fractured Beat by R.B. Hilliard

“I absolutely loved this book. One of the best books I’ve read all year.” ~5 Star Review by Leigh Shen

“Having never read R.B. before I wasn’t sure what I was in for and I am so glad I took a chance and read this book! It had a little bit of everything…steamy scenes, enough suspense to keep you guessing, characters that are well developed and you will fall in love with and, well, rock stars.” ~5 Star Amazon Review by Erin McFarland

“Wow! This was my first read by this author and I’m impressed! Fractured Beat had a unique story line that sucked me right in! I didn’t want to put it down! I love any music/rock star book, but this one was about so much more than just that.” ~5 Star Review by Sammy’s Book Obsession

RENEGADE By Heather Dahlgren

Now Live on Amazon!

Synopsis:

Brooklyn Adler has the life she’s planned for. Job, house, boyfriend – in that order. It’s a boring, routine life were there are no surprises and nothing is spontaneous. It’s safe, it’s mundane and she’s fine with that.

Crosby Fitzgerald, better known as Fitz from the band Renegade, has a life he never planned for. Popularity, women and success – not always in that order. Everything he does is spontaneous and exciting, because life is worth living to the fullest.

A chance meeting with Brooklyn and Fitz begins to alter both of their worlds – ensuring neither will ever be the same.

Exclusive Excerpt:
I turn to walk to the gate and I hear, “Wait. Brooklyn, wait.” I turn around and see Fitz, running full speed toward me and I cover my mouth with my hand.
I look at Poopy and she shrugs her shoulders. “I swear I had no idea.”
Fitz reaches me and holds onto the top of my arms, breathing heavily. “Brooklyn, stay. The thought of you leaving is killing me, I can’t bare it. I want you here, with me.”
Tears running down my cheeks, I look into his blue eyes and my heart shatters in my chest. The hope I see in them makes this the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. “I can’t Fitz. I have to go.”
“You don’t get it do you? We may not have crossed any lines physically, but my heart did. I fell for you Brooklyn,” he says and starts to move in for a kiss.
I step back and shake my head as I try to contain a sob. “I can’t. I’m so sorry Fitz.” I can’t wait for him to reply because I am so close to letting him convince me that this is where I belong.
So with my heart broken, my stomach in my throat and the best parts of me left behind with Fitz, I walk through the gate that will take me back to where I came from

Review by Susan:

I’ll start by saying I don’t normally read books about rock stars, not my cup of tea, but I was so pleased I gave this book a go as I was blown away! I loved Fitz, he was so unexpected. Yes he was cocky and arrogant but when he was with Brooklyn he was vulnerable and tried so hard to be the man she needed. There were times I wanted to hug Fitz and tell him to hang on the wait would be worth it. The chemistry between Fitz and Brooklyn nearly melted my kindle! The rest of the band were just as amazing as Fitz and provide some light moments. The story draws you in and spits you out at the end leaving you with one hell of a book hangover and a new book boyfriend!  5 Stars!

Synister by Alexis Riddley

Title: Synister: The Push Series, Book 1
Genre: Contemorary Romance
Release Date: August 2, 2016
As I took the steps to the stage I soaked in the moment, allowing the feeling and emotion to fill the void. I knew their love for me was only temporary, but it was enough. Enough to keep me going forward, and enough to sate any desire for permanency. This was my reality, all I was capable of feeling. A brief encounter with a sea of nameless faces, the anonymity kept them from seeing me for who I really was at my core. To them I was Synister Smith, and god damn it they loved me.
drums review.jpg
Review by Victoria:
Meet your latest rockstar book boyfriend, Synester Smith. He is everything you picture a rockstar drummer being hot, muscled, and severely messed up. He’s the kind of man you can’t help but love and want that could never love you back. His heart has long been held by one woman, Brooklyn, who sees him so much better than he sees himself. Brooklyn, long time fan and friend of Push, Synester’s band, is what rocker women dream of being. She’s flirty, badass, rocker tough chick who could virtually have any man she wants. The one man she does want though, is far too much of a friend to mess up their friendship. It’s your classic friend loves friend loves story. But it isn’t. That’s where the stereotypical of this story ends. It’s such an incredible story of pain, suffering, friendship, love and recovery.
This novel wrapped itself around my heart and squeezed until I couldn’t help but love Synester and Brooklyn. Their story, albeit heartbreaking at times, is one that will draw you in to know more. Now, bear with me, sometimes it’s a little long winded at times, but trust me, that’s completely Synester.
I will say, there is a rape scene in this novel. It is incredibly well written, the best way I can describe that is you know what’s happening, but it’s not painting a picture in your head, if you know what I mean. Please don’t let that deter you from this story though. Skip a couple of pages and carry on for their incredible story. Easy 5/5 read!
Alexis Riddley spends her day’s knee deep in the grind of corporate America, but her love of reading is what pushed her to put pen to paper. Bringing to life the stories that once existed only in her head. Alexis loves the outdoors, adventures, and music. Oftentimes music is the catalyst or the trigger for memories, and emotions that she uses in her writing. Alexis rarely watches television, but is a total comic book freak, superheroes, the whole lot of them. She is obsessed. Alexis is willing to try anything, at least once, as long as it keeps the soul free and the mind open. She is a kid at heart who refuses to let age define her and limitations contain her. Alexis is a romantic, with a twisted mind and sexy imagination. She still believes that happy endings exist, just that sometimes they do not come in the pretty packaging you may have expected.

Sold out shows, groupies, and living the high life are long forgotten as he has to learn to fend for himself while living in suburbia. Hiding out in the tiny town of Portmouthe, England is as about as far away from the spotlight as possible. He doesn’t want to be there, but he’s got nothing but time on his hands now that he’s been left high and dry by his band mate. No job, limited money and no life skills – he’s completely out of his element. No one in town knows he’s there except one girl who keeps his secret. Falling in love was never part of his comeback plan.

Madelyn Arnett knows all too well what it’s like to be on the wrong end of the paparazzi. She’s quietly rebuilding her life in the sleepy town of Portmouthe away from the prying eyes of trash media when the most famous musician on earth ends up in her workplace. Worried that when the media comes hunting for him, they will find her and she’s worked too hard to let some spoiled little rock star take her life away from her. But this helpless rock star is in need of a friend. Turns out, she’s the only person on the planet to truly know the real Reece Ashton. Fighting to not fall in love, she knows their time is fleeting as the glare of the spotlight comes hunting for Reece.

Review by Christine:
Rock Bottom from Josephine Traynor is a rock star love story with a twist. Reece Ashton is on top of it all about to start a world tour with his band mate till everything is taken away from him. Now forced to lay low until his band mate and best friend are found Reece’s holed up in a small town outside of London except he’s never really had to do anything for himself. Not only forced to fend for himself but also on a search to find out what he wants in life. Madelyn Arnett can’t help but be dawn to the rock star is disguise. Nothing really happens in her sleepy little town and that’s how Madelyn likes it since her life was plastered across the news awhile back. Trust is something that doesn’t come easy for Madelyn but can Reece brake through that wall and win Madelyn’s heart?

I enjoyed Rock Bottom which is a perfect title for this story. Both of these characters at one point have hit rock bottom and have recovered and are recovering from it. I did find the pacing a little off and at the beginning it did drag a little but that’s nothing to stop someone from reading Johephine’s debut novel! I loved the British slang and in doing such kept true to the feel of being set in UK. Reece’s redemption over the novel was well plotted and I truly felt for his struggle but wow the laundry thing would have been a deal breaker for me. The chemistry between the leads was perfect and clumsy which felt true to life. 4 Stars for Rock Bottom by Josephine Traynor.

I hold the phone away from my ear and yell, “Laugh it up chuckles. You’ll see. I don’t need any fucking help.”

I need help.

I’ve walked for ten minutes, and all I’ve passed is more suburbia. I’m sure I’ve seen this same house three times. I’m ashamed to say that I’m pretty useless with my sense of direction. I can get lost just turning in a circle. The first five minutes of walking was hell. I started to sweat. My pants were clinging to my legs, and the rank stale odour of my body was blowing up wind.

The longest I’ve had to walk was from the door of the hotel to my waiting car on the street, or from the tarmac to the airport. I don’t include the hours across the stage a night. That was fun. This is as boring as bat shit. I don’t have headphones, I don’t have a car, and I don’t have a driver. I don’t have anything that I took for granted.

The houses are all blending in, and I don’t know which one’s mine. I’m waiting for David to text me the address, but I know he’s taking the piss. Bastard. Teasing me about first world problems. I know I sound like a whiny little bitch, but my life is in stark contrast to what it was forty-eight hours ago, and I’m struggling to adjust.
