MISS FIX IT by Emma Hart

One handywoman.

One single dad.

One set of twins.

And the wall isn’t the only thing being drilled…

I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me.

Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town.

Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me.

On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.

In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.

I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.

And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.

Review by Candy:

A must read! First check out The Kingwood Duet to be introduced to Jason. Since I had already met Jason in Savage and Savior (The Kingwood Duet), it was a pleasure to see where he came from and what his story was. Jason really wasn’t a bad guy, just a guy who was lost after the love of his life broke up with him. Jason never stopped loving Delilah and the feelings were mutual but he didn’t know it till he came home. Delilah was the one that got away and since coming home Jason finds out that she’s single with the hope of reconnecting if not forever but for closure of 4 years ago. Delilah still holds a candle for Jason but she can’t act on it because of her ex, but once she gives into Jason’s will she feels safe in his arms, but is Jason gonna stay or leave? They’ve reconnected on many levels but will the past still pull them apart again?
S.L. I loved this book as much as the Kingwood Duet. I got shivers in spots and tears in others. You have a way with words when writing and that makes you awesome in my book. You have given your characters life with passion and that makes the reader feel as they are reading. Written with both P.O.V. of the main characters you’ll never need to know what the other is thinking.
S.L. Scott is an author to definitely read! This story was a bit softer than the Kingwood Duet (another must check out) but either way you’ll be hooked. 5 Stars!

I used to think she couldn’t resist me, but she had no problem earlier this week. I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve when it comes to Ms. Noelle. Let’s see if she still can. “I’ll be right back.”

“What?” my mom asks, watching me get out of the car. “Where are you going? The light’s going to turn green any second.”

I keep walking.

She sees me. Even though her pretty eyes are hidden behind big sunglasses, I can figure they’re probably damn wide right now. Reaching for the truck door lock, her finger pushes it down just as I arrive. She can kid herself like that. She knows deep down that I’ll never hurt her, but I might pressure her into giving me a little of her time.

Standing on the other side of her door, I knock. Delilah finally looks up and points at the light. It’s green. I shrug. I make the lame twist of the wrist roll down your window motion with my hand because I have a feeling she might not understand if I pretend to push a button to roll it down.

“Get back in your car, Jason,” she says through the glass.

“No. Roll down your window.” To sugarcoat it, I add, “Please.”

“What do you mean why? I want to talk to you and I don’t want shout through the glass.”

Huffing, the glass slides down slowly. “What is it?” She keeps her hands on the steering wheel and her grip seems to tighten just a bit.

She glances my way, so I say, “I want to see you.”

“You’re seeing me, Jason, so if that’s all there is, I’ll be going no—”

The glass starts to roll up, but I clamp my palm over it. She releases the button and looks up at me. “I don’t know what happened the other day, what turned your mood so quickly, but I’d like another chance for us to talk this time.”

“It’s not a good idea.”

“It’s a great idea, actually. All you have to say is yes.”

My smile tilts into a smirk. “You haven’t changed much.”

“Then you haven’t been paying attention.”

Defiant Attraction by V.K. Torston

Defiant Attraction comes out November 16th!

Title: Defiant Attraction
Author: V.K. Torston
Genre: Contemporary, New Adult, Erotic Romance
Release Date: November 16th, 2017

About the Book

Dan might be the enemy of my enemy, but I’m not sure that makes him my friend. He’s definitely not my ‘step brother’, no matter what everyone at school says. Honestly, I don’t know what he’s supposed to be to me. Or what he’s becoming…

Fact: for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

In the yearbook, I’ll be Sophia Ramos: Valedictorian. Years of honor roll certificates, AP classes, and lugging around an obnoxiously large cello case are about to finally pay off. If everything goes according to plan, I’ll escape these decaying suburbs for a top university across the country.

The problem? A few years ago, my mom met someone just as broke, just as drunk, and just as impulsive as she is. Approximately five seconds into their relationship, they decided it would be an excellent idea for him—and his son, Dan—to move in with us. (Spoiler alert: it wasn’t).

Now I share a house with none other than Daniel Cole. Even though Dan dropped out two years ago, he’s still the tattooed, bad boy, heartthrob, legend of St. Anthony’s Academy. He and I aren’t supposed to have anything in common.

Living together means war. First, Dan and I were at war with each other. Now, our rivalry is giving way to an unlikely alliance—two opposing sides teaming up against a common enemy: our respective parents.

Which is to say, we’ve been hanging out.

Question: What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object?

Here’s the thing: My brain is a complex organ. One hundred billion neurons, each with an average of seven thousand synaptic connections to other neurons. My brain is my ticket out of here.

My heart, by contrast, is a pump. It moves blood around.

I know Dan is off-limits. I know I shouldn’t do something I’ll regret. And I know how much is at stake (my family, my future).

So why can’t I stop thinking about him? Those inscrutable jade eyes. The smile that can say a thousand different things at once. That tattoo curving across his abs…

Even though I know better, I feel that pounding in my chest. And it’s getting harder to ignore.

But if I follow my heart, I can never go back.

Answer: There is no such thing as an immovable object.

21 by Rhonda James

  Title: 21
Author: Rhonda James
Release Date: September 21st, 2017
Cover Designer: Taylor James
Genre: New Adult
Every girl has a breaking point…
Mine came the moment I found my boyfriend in bed with another woman. Turns out she wasn’t the first, either. Nope. Seems my guy had been screwing every available girl on campus and I’d been oblivious to all of it.
Running away with a rock band may not be the best way to handle things, but that’s exactly what I do. Two days into the adventure, I’m slapped in the face with how boring and predictable my life has been up to this point.
With my birthday fast approaching, I finally give in to my best friend’s advice and make a list. You know the kind. Every single thing I’ve been too chicken to do–until now, anyway.
The catch? Accomplishing all 21 before my birthday. Should make for an interesting month.
1) Adopt Sophie’s FUCK THE RULES motto
2) Be more adventurous
3) Kiss a random guy
4) Proposition a hot guy
5) Achieve the BIG ‘O’
Review by Christine:
Rhonda goes back to her roots with 21. A brand new Rock Star romance and series starter for The List series. This sexy romance heats up your kindle to the point of combustion and delivers an intense romance.

Victoria thought her life was heading in one direction and in one night it does a complete 180 degree turn. Dylan (Sin) has always admired Victoria from afar being that she dated his brother until one night he catches her swimming in his families pool. Put together by circumstance, Victoria & Dylan can’t resist their chemistry but can a vacation romance turn into true love?

Rhonda knows how to write heat and 21 is not lacking in that department. I loved Dylan’s character and his backstory, though I did feel it was a little rushed and wanted to see that developed more. Victoria’s situation was completely relate-able. I think the majority of people have loved someone who didn’t feel the same. I do feel we could have seen a little more angst between the two leads but overall I really enjoyed the story. 4 “Chocolate Chip Cookie” stars for 21 by Rhonda James

Full of vinegar, I cocked a hip and propped my hand on my waist. “Yep. In fact, I thought it would be fun to sneak off to his car and polish off a bottle of Patron just before I let him bone me in the backseat.”
“Yeah, that’s not gonna happen.”
Oh no, he didn’t.
“God, I hate you! I can go where I want with whomever I wa—”
I never finished my sentence.
He was on me in a flash, spinning me around and slamming me up against the wall before it even registered what was happening. One hand was around my throat while the other skimmed across my belly. I felt his warm breath on my neck as his lips ghosted over my flesh. Ragged breaths escaped my lips as the smell of fresh paint permeated my nostrils.
Music blared loudly on the other side of the wall, but back here we were alone, no one around to stop what was about to go down. Not even me. Not because I couldn’t, but because I didn’t want to.
His fingers inched higher, teasing the underside of my naked breast. “You knew exactly what you were doing when you put these on tonight. Didn’t you? The whole time you were prancing around on that stage without a bra. You knew you were giving every guy out there a show.” His fingers drew a line down the center of my heaving chest as he hissed, “Fuck. Just knowing they were looking up your shirt makes me want to gouge every single one of their eyes out.”
His hand dipped lower, toying with the waist of my shorts before sliding all the way inside. The hand around my throat tightened once he discovered I wasn’t wearing panties. “Christ, woman. Are you trying to kill me?”
Holy Toledo.
I knew it might sound crazy, but the hand on my throat, the calloused pad of his finger resting on my most sensitive place, all of it worked in his favor. Any anger I’d been harboring disappeared the moment his lips touched my neck.
He rotated his hips, and desire pooled between my legs when he ground his arousal against my ass until I answered, “As a matter of fact, I was thinking maybe a slow sex-induced death where we both go with ridiculous smiles on our faces.”
“I’d happily die that death,” he agreed before burying two fingers inside me.
“Oh, God,” I moaned and rolled my hips, riding his hand while his fingers moved inside my body—violating me in a delicious yet wicked sort of way.
I wasn’t sure how it happened, but in a matter of minutes, we’d gone from arguing about my fake date to him finger fucking me in a darkened hall in the back of Devil’s Playground. At any moment, someone could come down the hall and witness what was taking place, but the new, adventurous side of me didn’t even care. It was insane and out of control, but fuck if it didn’t feel amazing having his hands on me. In that moment, I was alive and more aware of myself than I’d ever been.
I didn’t care if this was a one-time occurrence.
I didn’t care if we hated each other when it was over.
All I cared about was my impending orgasm.
And I was close. So. Very. Close.
Damn, his fingers were magic.

Beauty by Mary Catherine Gebhard

Review by Paula:
The conclusion story to Beast. Frankie/Beauty can’t get the Beast out of her mind one min she’s running away the next Frankie is running towards him and welcoming the darkness. This book is full of twist and turns and very dark. I loved the whole series. It’s like mafia meets beauty and the beast. Will the Beast end up getting his slave/ beauty back or will she end the Beast? A great dark twist that had me routing for the darkness! 4 Stars

Once upon a time, I thought love was a fairytale.

My prince was a Beast with blood on his hands and ice in his veins. My family offered to save me. The only price: leaving the tattered pieces of my heart behind.

Our love was irrational. Cruel. Unforgiving. Nothing like the storybooks said it should be—but it was perfect.

The longer we were apart, the more I lost myself. He was vicious and domineering, but I craved the submission. Together we were destructive, but I was addicted to the devastation. Still, I thought titles mattered. To my family I was princess, and to the Beast I was slave. I was too naïve to understand that even though he’d been my captor, he’d broken the shackles on my soul.

Once upon a time, I thought love meant happily ever after.

Now I know better.

I was going insane, absolutely aching, and it was just instinct to touch myself. He grabbed my hand, lifting it so my fingers were just below his chin.

“Greedy girl,” he said. “Don’t you know your orgasm is mine? I own this.” He sucked my fingers until they were clean and I moaned, rubbing my thighs together. I was so overstimulated, I was sure I was going to come just from the friction. I rubbed my thighs harder and he laughed darkly, pushing me off him. I fell to the ground.

Eyes still locked, Anteros reached behind and flipped over the coffee table. The glass crashed and shattered. Some shards hit my thigh, but I didn’t think about that or the mess or the possible danger because moments later Anteros was on the ground with me.

He crawled between my legs and spread them wide in the new space. I got to my elbows, watching him rapt.

“If you come without permission,” he said, licking a long, razor sharp trail from behind my knee to inside my thigh, “you will be punished.”

Review by Paula:

A short start to become of a amazing series! This book had me intrigued from page one. We meet Elenore a girl who’s life has been hell and even more now. Through it all Elenore is a fighter and won’t give up even when her captor wants the tears and screams. A very unique dark book. I love that we got POV from Elenores  and even the Captors,  made the book very interesting how these two people don’t even know how much they are alike in a way. The ending though totally shocked me and I’m dying to know what happens next! 5 Stars
